Coastside Carousel is a show devoted to spotlighting the groups and artists that make up our local musical entertainment community.
My name is Kevy Nova and I've been playing music for longer than I can remember. My father played drums, guitar and bass and wanted me to be a musician, so most of my toys were musical instruments. By the age of five, I was figuring out songs such as the Sesame Street theme on my Fisher-Price xylophone. At seven, I started taking violin classes and at nine I began formal guitar lessons. By the time I was sixteen, I was playing in 3 professional bands. I've played in rock, blues, country and oldies bands, but my real passion is my own music, which is a cross between all of those influences.
I moved to Half Moon Bay in 2005 and I love this town! I give private lessons for guitar, bass, drums and piano as well as teaching ukulele classes. I also teach the Coastside Young Actors Workshop which is a non-profit musical improv/theater group for children in grades K-12. When I'm not teaching or playing music, I can often be found enjoying the beach with my Chihuahua "Little Girl" who is my best friend!
On top of that, I host the Thursday night Open Mic at Cameron's, where I have met dozens of incredible Coastside musicians, many of whom I will be featuring right here on Coastside Carousel. You can visit me and hear my music at www.KevyNova.com.
